The Blog - Ayumi

It was a little hard for me to send blog each week, but it was also good opportunities to write sentences in English, and use a computer. Thanks to this assignment, I faced to my computer once a week at least. I could enjoy thinking about the theme that you gave us each week, although it was sometimes difficult for me to think about. Anyway it was good assignment for me and I really enjoyed it.

I think Japanese comics. Japanese drama may be rubbish, and hollywood is just only fight. But Japanese comics have story. A lot of Japanese drama don't have much of a plot. So we can say Japanese comic is better than Japanese drama!

It is in the south of the Arabia pennsula.  The area is smaller than Japan, and the population of the country is 14,5000,000. It is famous for Mocha coffee. The north is republic and the south is democratic.

I like visiting temple and shrine.There are many temples and shrines in Japan.  I go to the shrine which is the nearest from my house, and pray with my family on every New Year's Day.  That is one of Japanes culture.  We pray for our health, happily life for a year and drink alittle sake offered to the shrine.  I like that custom very much.

Alcohol can be a medicine and also a drug.  It is helpful to get a body warm for the person who has a poor circulation, and makes us sleep well when we can't sleep.  But, if you take too much, it can be because of alcohol. So take care when you drink alcohol!

Do you know Crozet Island?? It's a solitary island far off in the sea, placed the southernmost point of the Indian Ocean. You might think it's a desert island, but it's not! This island is French territory, so there is French base. There are so many penguins and Orcas, that's why Crozet Island is very famous for marine biologists. It's very beautiful island!! There is the average life expectancy from 25 to 35. It is recorded that too many babies and infant mortality, pregnant woman mortality in the world. Belize is Latin American country which is located by Mexico. It became independent on 1981 and now it's sightseeing business is growing. There are 2 things that Belize can proud of. One of these are over 600 remains of Mayan. Another is coral reef. The size and the beauty of it are the second quality in the world. Many people visit to Belize to see the beautiful sea. In addition, security of the country is not so bad. I guess this country might be one of the popular countries to visit in the future.

I found out countly which is the Democrathic Republic of Madagascar. Do you know this countly? I did not know. This countly is west south in Africa, and island in Indian Ocean. Population of this countly is 175 million people. In addition capital of city is Antannalibo. The language is Madagasikara. The island is very beautiful, therefore this countly was registered the World Heritage. This country is good place. I want to go Madagasukaru!

Do you have any favorite customs in your countries?
As Japanese, I like the custom that we take off our shoes before entering the house. There are main two reasons. First, we keep the floor clean and dirt which is stuck our shoes don't come into house's floor. Second, it's good for our health to walk barefoot. I heard that lots of Western people tend to take off shoes before entering house like Japanese way.

I don’t like Japanese music. Japan has many kind of music. Of all others, I don’t like “enka”. Have you ever listened to enka music? Most of older people are like it, but young people don’t like. By the way, my grandmother is always sing enka at karaoke. I think it is sad, song of life and dark. First of all, I’m slept by it music. I can’t understand, why are people listen to enka music. My hot spot is Motomachi. Recently, I go to there once two weeks with my family or friends. Have you ever been in “Nankinmachi? There are a lot of Chinese stores in the small street. For example, Chinese restaurants, Yamucha stands and sundry goods. I ‘m always ate food when I went to there. This is fried bread in the ice cream. It isn’t easy to eat, but it is delicious. I don't like the culture which people make noise when they eat noodles. I hate the noise when someone is eating. That's why I always try not to make noise when I eat anything. However, some people says that it is impolite. It is sometimes considered like I'm not enjoying the noodles in Japan. I think it's a one of interesting Japanese cultures, but I don't like it!! Can you bear the noise????

Sumo is the one of the famous Japanese culture. Nowadays, it is famous for foreign people, too. Two strong fat guys fight each other. Their hair style is a kind of pony tale. We say "Chonmage". They wear while loinchoth. Many Japanese people like watching Sumo, especially adult people. However, I rarely watch it, because I am not interested in Sumo at all.

Actually I don't pray. I'm not a Christian. When I came to Osaka to start studying at the YMCA, I met Cristian people at the first time. I was surprised to seen them praying for everything. I wondered why they were praying. As time went by, I understood them little by little. Then, I thought it is a good custom to pray before the meal. It also reminds me "Itadakimasu" which is a phrase Japanese say before the meal. I think it is a kind of praying.

There are magnificent thing a long established custom in Japan. This is moral eduation which consists of the proprieties, the intellectual, the courage, the justice and the charity. I think that is precious inheritance for us from our ancestral. Also that had been Japanese back bone to predate World War two.
Now few men have moral education in my generation. I feel entertain about that trend.
However, recently more people are interested in moral education by books than before. It's important for all of people this time. I hope to return virtue of countly in the world.

But it's good to drink moderately. Be careful when you drink.

I do not think that alcohol is a drug. I want to reverse ask you. Do you think alcohool is a drug? I am sure that alcohol is not drug. In Japan many people drink alcohol. I think "the drug" include some dangerouse ingredient but "the medicine" inclide nature ingredient. The drug also include chemically ingredient, it produces a reaction . If the symptoms is bad, you will get onother illness! If we can forget pain, bad memory or some trouble, we shouldn't use the drug. I start to reduce the kitchen waste recently. I recycle vegetable's calyx that is very useful. I think majority of people doesn't use vegetable's calyx when they cook but I use. When I cut the veges I put calyx on the shallow cup, then it grows up it sprout. It's very beautiful when I decorate carrot cakes or some Italian dishes. That my easy recycle. Tomomi

RECYCLE - AYUMI

When I read the paper, I remenbered the events I'd done in my elementary school.  We had a program that we walked around our district picking up the trash for about 3 or 4 hours.  It was really tough stuff, but also fun.  We used to compete who could gather the much trash.  It was only once a year, but good activity to environment.  I think we should have the activity like that in each company.  There are many companies all over Japan, so if each of them had a activity like that, it would be better place to live.

I'll introduce the restaurant where I've never been to, but want to go.  It is near the Higobashi station and it's name is "Satoyama Cafe"  You can eat foods using organic vegetables and brown rice.They have many kinds of menu and you can eat lunch less than 1000yen. How about eating lunch there today?

I have recycled something in the house. For example, tolei, pet botle, kan, steel etc. I think we have to recycle garbage,or there are too garbage on grobe everywhere. I feel terrible to became garbage lands my home town. I hope not to growing worse envirmental problem.

There were many carbon dixide in the world. Therefore world became warm. If wam go on , Tubalu will sink in the sea. Nine years passed from Kyoto aprotaocol. What can we do for earth? I like recycling. If it is possible to recycle everything on the earth, I will be willing to do it. Recently, I recycled five botls of water. After drinking water, there were five botls left. I thought whether there was any way to recycle, and I got it!! I will pout water into the bottles again and put them into the bathtub when I take a bath so that the water that I have to run into the bathtub will be reduced. What a good idea it is!! Why don't you try it!?

Carpool means share and travel together to work, school, etc... So that only one car is used at a time. Why do most people drive alone?? In my opinion, first of all, it's difficult to share each people's time. Secondly, it's quite a burden for a driver to take people. Moreover, it takes much petrol if more than two people. Butch

I think five things that cause pollution, i proposes the acid rain,
the vehicle exhaust emission, the industrial waste water, the depletion of ozone layer and the heat island phenomenon. When we drive the car, we should do idling stop, we should set the temperature of the air-conditionar to 28 Moreover we necessary to take care about the processing of the detergent and fluorocarbon. Hot spot in Osaka - There are many Buffet restaurants in Osaka. I have one recommendable one, It's "Dessert Island" in HEP building. You can eat as much as you like for 1,200 yen at the restaurant. It's quite popular. The main is sweets. If you like sweets, it's like a heaven!!

If you have opportunity to go Kobe, I'd recomend you to visit MOSAIC!!
There are so many shops beside the harbor. MOSAIC is a one of hot
dating spot. You'd better to go there at night. I'm sure the night view
will tough your heart!! There is a cruising dinner ship, it's a little
expensive, but the foods were very nice. Anyway, MOSAIC is a romantic
spot. Please go there and enjoy with your girlfriend or boyfriend! Ami

I recommend you to visit Zouhei-kyoku in Temmabashi. There are
thousands of cherry blossoms. In spring, Zouhei-kyoku is the best place
to have a cherry blossom viewing party in Osaka because there're
beautiful cherry blossoms, of course, and huge spaces to have a party
with many people. Once you see the blossomes there, you will be

I have a favarite spot in Ooska. That is Minou! Minou station which is
on the local area in Hankyu line. There are a lot of natures and a
great waterfall! And there is insect musuiam. Children may be
interested in that. That place fit that are wolking, climed mountain,
and sightseeing. I recommend to go there with friends or family

Arashiyama - Shinichi

Hot spot...Have you ever been to Arashiyama which is Kyoto prefecture.
That place is very beautiful in spring and fall season. 2 years ago I
went there in Autumn and I rode old train. It calls Torokko ressha
(Trolley train). It was interesting. I could see some beautiful flowers
and relaxing. As you know Japanese top singer Hibari Misora. In
Arashiyama there is the museum of Hibari Misora. I have never entered
there, because ticket is very high. I like Kyoto's atomosphere, I can
shopping, relaxing and exploding. I don't know much about Kyoto, but
Arashiyama is good place, indeed. Shinichi

TV program Kana I like watch to Japanese TV programs. My favorite TV program is Comedy. But Japanese has a lot kind of Comedies program. Especially, I like “Manzai” and “ YOSHIMOTO Shinkigeki”. I always watch these TV at once a week. And I always laughed these TV with my family. These programs are made me happy and forget bad things. And I think a laugh is the best of medicine. KANA

I saw a TV progrom last Wednesday. I was surprised at the program. One commentator who can see ghosts said exactly what my friend said.Every single words were the same. I felt strange but also curious.Is she able to see the ghost, too? I wonder if there are ghosts indeed...

Actually, I don稚 watch TV so much and I知 not familiar with the most of the Japanese programme. Only a programme I sometimes watch is 溺ezamashi television？ One of programmes in the Mezamashi television called 展orld caravan？is very interesting. That introduces viewers Japanese people who live abroad longer and the performer brings them a letter which their relatives wrote from Japan. That makes us impressed.

100 go de eikaiwa - Shinichi

Do you know "100 go de eikaiwa" It showed NHK TV program. I used to
watch it. You can learn basic word or sentence. Every week you can see
and learn new vocabulary. 3 people were main caster. A man who was a
native speaker also he spoke Japanese very well. A girl who was a
Japanese. Her English was bad. And one more person, a man who was a
Japanese. He spoke English very well and also he taught English very
well, too. I think this TV show finished already. I don't know...

My favorite TV programs are "Sekai-marumie(10ch)"and "Kiseki Taikenn
Unbelievable(8ch)". These are showing the funny, interesting, and
unbelievable cultures and issues. I'm sure these programs draw your all
emotions out such as joy, sadness, anger, and inspiration. Whenever I
watch them I can't help laughing and astonishing. On the other hand,
they show me the sad trageties and impressive stories and these really
touch my heart and I cry all the time. The main reason why I love these
2 programs is everystory they give us are all true story. After
watching these, I feel like I learnt many thing from them. Why don't

His mother understand him, and she went to buy a bikini for him at
once.It's really amazing news. I think now is OK, but When he will
grow up, I don't think people in geneal acept him. Because I have a
friend who also was diagnose GID 6 years ago. He always have a hard

My faborite TV program is bs world documentary. This program show many
kind of international situation. I look fword watch it every week. It
always show about religon, country's trouble, po- vrty and education in
the world. When I watched it , I have query. Then I check solution from

I watched a football game last Saturday, it was "Japan vs. Scotland".
This game was last game that Japan national team which was coached by
ZICO played in Japan. According to sports news Japan national team's
paformance was good, but thay couldn't win. I'm looking forward to
watch their win on FIFA World Cup in Germany 2006. E4 Masa

Hi, do you like sports? I like all kinds of sports except swimming.
When I was a Junior high school student, I belonged to tennis club and
I was very good at it. However, I don't play sports recently at all,
because I don't have opportunity to play sports. It is sad: ( That's
why the sports day is a one of my favorite activities in YMCA!! I hope
E3/4 class gonna beat the other classes this year!! Ami

Sport - Ayumi

I've played volley ball since I was in elementary school.  I can get
rid of my stress and feel refreshed by playing sports.  I think sports
make it easier to get along with others.  I got many good friends
through playing volley ball especially in the high school.  When
playing in the high school, we had many difficulties to understand each
other but now we are really good friends!  We had BBQ on GW and talked
a lot about school life, future, love, and so on.  We had a great
time!  When I'm with them, I can relax and it is really comfotable to
be with them.  This relationship must not be formed without playing

World cup is coming soon. I look foward it. But I have a problem.
Because Warld cup start midnight. For example Am2:00 or Am4:00. So
World cup is too taugh to sleep. Now I can only think about soccer.I
think japan will not be able to win in world cup.

I like all kind of sports. The best sport is baseball for me.Because I
used to play baseball before high school. I like watching baseball
game. My favorite team are tigers and carp. Recently I like wacthing
tennis. I did'nt think interesting tennis before watching TV. Tennis

"my favorite sports" I like watching any kinds of sports better
than playing. Especially I like watching volleyball, baseball and
soccer. When I was a high school student, I went to Koshien to watch
our school's baseball game. Before going to Koshien, my high school
baseball team won five games and chosen as a representative of Mie
prefecture. I was so excited to hear that. I enjoyed the game and
cheered them up with all of my power!! I would be greatful if my

Do you know one of Asian sports,Sepak takraw？Sepak means kicking, takraw means a ball. When I visited Thailand with my friend, I found the shuttlecock for it. Actually, I've never played it, but I know its game only by sight. I bought one shuttlecock for my enjoyment. Although I've got it by hand, I can't play it on my own! If you are interested in playing sepak takraw, why don't we play with me?

Sport - Haruka

Do you know Kabaddi? Kabaddi is the sport
which is played in South Asian and Middle Eastern countries. It's very
intresting sport and it's rule is like tag. But there is one big
diffrent rule from tag. During playing Kabaddi, we must say "Kabaddi
Kabaddi Kabaddi ......" all the time. Isn't it intresting?

Do you like running? - Shinichi

When I was a junior high I enjoyed track and field club. As you know I
like walking now but I used to like running, too. I was not fast runner
but I enjoyed running. Now I don't know why I liked running so much.
Everybody never knows even mine...Anyway, Track and flied there are a
lot of an event, running long distance and short distance and the
discus or the short put and staff. Can you believe it as I was joinning
this club I was a discus thrower.  Shinichi

Golden Week - Ayumi

GW  It was great holiday for me.  I met my friends who went to the
Philippines with and talked about the life in Japan, memories of
Philippines, and so on.    I went to Tokyo for the first time and I had
BBQ twice.  Once was with my high school's friends and the other was
with my childhood friends.  I talked a lot with all my friends.  It was
really nice holiday for me!  Ayumi
